The recording of Happy End is moving towards a happy ending
If Bjorn Runge’s acclaimed film, If I Turn Around (2003) was about broken relationships, his new film Happy End is a story about how people are intertwined. Right now, the film crew to clear the last of the recordings of Happy End. The screenplay, written by Danish author Kim Fupz Aakeson, requires a lot of the actors. But the ensemble is professional. Here we see, among others, Ann Petrén, Gustaf Skarsgård and Johan Widerberg in some of the leading roles. A couple of other very interesting name is David Dencik, perhaps best known in Sweden from the drama series Laser Man, and newcomer Malin Busk.
All shots in Trollhättan-Vänersborg has gone very well as producer Madeleine Ekman from Trollhattan Film / Zentropa. Recording sites, including an apartment in the district Kronogården in Trollhättan and an apartment in the center of Vänersborg, was carefully chosen. And even if Madeleine Ekman describes many scenes as “terribly difficult to make” recordings have been characterized by a very nice and cozy atmosphere.
- But do we get a happy ending?
- I think that definitely make it, but maybe not the way you think. The actual output can not get more than a happy ending after all. It is cruel direction, great photography and amazing actor. I definitely have high expectations for the film, that I had from the first moment I read the script, “says Madeleine Ekman before she rushed forward in the middle of the intense recording phase.
